If you’re like me the sound of rain the last few days seems so strange… almost like a dream. Because of the record-breaking drought, it’s been a struggle to keep our yard and all the pretty flowers from burning up so we’ve been watering like crazy. (like most people) Thank goodness we got a break the last three days with steady little down pours. Ahhhhhh, green, not brown begins to emerge around town and I for one am totally grateful.

I had to actually tie and stake some of my crepe myrtles because the weight of the water on the leaves and flowers was pulling them to the ground.  It was a much-needed rain.

Here’s a picture in the courtyard as the rain fell against the sunny sky.  I just love how pretty is was.  I was outside standing in it… getting soaked.  Then I realized I better take cover before I ruin my camera.  HA!

So thank you mother nature for sending us some rain.  And of course a beautiful rainbow to top it all off.   ‘Til we meet again… it’s back to work on this house in the hot sun.
