In and under glass

Have you ever noticed how beautiful something looks when it’s in or under glass? A picture is just a picture until you get it under glass and then it’s a work of art. It seems like glass turns everything into something WAY more special. How about wine? Wine in a bottle is just wine and then you pour it into a beautiful glass and suddenly you’re dining in a fancy french bistro and not your kitchen. It’s so great!

So for fun, and because I’m not working on any “renovation” work right now, I took a couple of pictures of things at my house “in or under” glass. I think they’re pretty and I definitely need to find more ways to use glass containers in a creative way.

I’ve had this little succulent “terrarium” which I guess is sort of a terrarium even though it’s not completely closed in. It is so happy in this spot and has grown like crazy. I hardly ever think about it or water it and it’s happy as can be. Of course these little sweeties wouldn’t look the same if they were just in a pot. The glass does it!

I had this really great old black and white picture of Richie with his father when he was just a sweet little boy (he’s still sweet!). I wanted to do something special with it so I got creative with a glass dome we picked up at an estate sale. I love the way it looks in the glass. It almost magnifies the picture and makes it easier to see.

Richie was such a cute little kid and he and his dad are still this close. The “2 of them” make me smile!

Go ahead.. try it… put a glass over something and call yourself amazing! (laughing)

We’re looking forward to the long MLK weekend so we can work in the bedroom. My closet is on hold until the shelf pins arrive in the mail. All the shelves are adjustable and Richie didn’t want to cut any more shelves without all the pins. They should be here by Friday. So it’s back to renovation work this weekend and I have hopes of really good progress. I’ll keep you posted!
