They say it’s the little things in life that really get to you. Well, the little things in this little kitchen are frustrating me to no end. I haven’t posted anything because NOT MUCH IS HAPPENING! The drawer finishing is going good but I didn’t want to put them all in as too many things keep coming up.

Here’s a few drawers in place.

I’ll be ordering my bar pulls this week. Here’s what they look like …

The plumbers were suppose to come last week and got called out for a major gas leak somewhere and had to reschedule. Then we went to put the clips in to secure the stop top and the hole they cut was too small… so I had to arrange for them to come back out to take 1/8″ of an inch off. We also had to install a 30 amp breaker in place of the 40 amp that was in for the cooktop. (again… the little things.)Then I decided to go ahead and get a new stainless steel oven but the one I wanted is slightly larger than the old one and we weren’t sure it would fit. So we had to cut a large pipe that was sitting in the bottom of the cabinet that holds all the electrical so we could lower the bottom of the cabinet to accommodate the taller oven. I finally ordered the oven and it will be here next Tuesday. Lets hope it’s not hell to get that in.

The plumbers did finally show up Monday and my pretty faucet is finally in! I’m really pleased. The garbage disposal just barely fit in. That sink is so big… but totally worth it! The dishwasher is also back in and fits perfect.

I ordered a new runner/rug for the space which is the only thing that has worked out. It arrived on time and fits perfectly. The counter stools I ordered finally arrived at the YRC freight facility here in town and Richie went to get those yesterday and the package was damaged in shipping and the legs of the stools were all bent. I SWEAR, IT’S ALWAYS SOMETHING! So we had to refuse the stools and contact the company and “supposedly” they are shipping new ones. (MORE WAITING!)

The electrical boxes were set a little too far into the brick so they don’t meet even with the backsplash. Richie has all the plugs in but now has to buy longer screws to get them secure. Again, it’s the little things driving us crazy! And amidst all that I celebrated my 43rd birthday… which seems impossible. Where does the time go and what the hell have I been doing? Oh yeah, RENOVATION! Good grief these projects just take so long. I know the outcome will be wonderful and that’s what keeps us going.
