Time Flies

posted on

this week, we moved into our modern home.

It’s been a really great and very exhausting 2 years.  We have learned so much about who we are and what we want in life.  Our team work and support of each other has gotten us so far with this renovation and has strengthened our love and appreciation for each other. Richie has been so patient with me, as I’m a perfectionist and many of the jobs I do take me WAY longer than they should.  It’s maddening, I’m sure.  But in the end, when the tears have been wiped away, and the yelling has stopped, the aching muscles have finally relaxed, the splinters have been removed, the heat rash is gone and the bruises have faded… we know this is home and we made the right decision to take this on.  We’re happy and the beautiful results keep us going.

Here’s to the next 2 years and all that we’ll accomplish and learn.  Many thanks to everyone who has helped us with words of encouragement and well wishes.  We couldn’t have made it without so many of you!

Just for fun, I thought I’d post a few before and after pictures.  Of course there’s much more of that when you click the “room by room” or other links in the top menu.  But let’s revisit a few rooms….. (just for fun!)

Living Room

Kitchen/dining Area

Hallway

Formal Dining Room

Guest Bathroom

Guest Bedroom

We’re half way there… which feels amazing.  Lets hope we have the stamina to make it through the next two years.

Love what you both have done with Rex & Ruth Goode’s House. You have honored them, but really added some style and made it your own. I love it. Thanks for being such fine owners and sharing the legacy! Mom and Dad have enjoyed seeing the pictures and following your blog. Thanks for sharing the updates.

Thanks Rebecca. That means so much to us. We always dreamed of building a modern house… but saving this one was a far better way to go, especially knowing who lived here and how many people came through those doors and loved those people. It’s awesome to be here!
Your parents are so dear and I love that they’re so interested in what we’re doing. We’re working all the time and small changes are always happening. Thanks for checking in on us!
