Finally Fenced!

posted on

It’s been a while since I posted an update but I wanted to wait until the fence was done. The rain showers (even though we needed them) really slowed things down…. actually things came to a screeching halt for a while. Richie continued to work every chance he could to finish the gate and fence and there were lots of little things to wrap up. Finally, it’s done. He made me promise that I would wait a few weeks before I stained it so all the wood could dry out.. but of course I’m chomping at the bit!

The back of fence gets final pickets

This is a nice view of the back side that surrounds the front courtyard. Lovely!

Here’s a view of the gate Richie built to have easy access to the A/C Compressor and gas meter.

The picture below shows the front of the fence where Richie cut a small door for the meter reader to open and read the meter without ever having to come into our private space. CLEVER! (and cute)

He even hand carved the little knob! Too much, Richie! You’re too much!

The sliding gate works beautifully and was given a nice roller to keep things rolling smooth and several locks and pins to keep it in place.

It feels so good to have this MASSIVE job behind us. Richie was incredible and THIS THING IS SOLID! I’m so proud of the amazing job he did. I wonder how much it would have cost us to hire someone for this job. Thankfully I’ve got a really handy guy. I think I’ll keep him!!!!
We went from this….

To this….

Now on to the next project. This next week Richie is getting a little help from his father to straighten out the electricity in the studio area.
The fun never ends! :-)
