Handmade – Part II

FILL EMPTY POTS …. Another thing off my list!
My little black bird pot finally got a bromeliad, but I can’t just seem to cross something off my list and move on… oh no, I have to draw it out, LITERALLY.

I have three pots that Richie found at various estate sales that he paid nothing for and although I love how old and beat up they look I thought I’d have some fun with one. I’ve been tripping over this pot (literally) and needed to fill it with something. I finally found one of my all time favorite plants at the nursery and it just seemed like a match. The old boring pot got a face life with a paint pen and a wobbly hand. Hey, the more imperfect, the better. I think.

The plant is called Angelonia and if you’ve never owned one…. GET ONE!  They love the sun and bloom pretty purple flowers all the way up until the first real hard freeze. I haven’t had much luck with them in the ground but when grown in a pot they come back year after year and produce these purple blooms NON-STOP! Love them.
The great part is that doodling on this pot only inspired other ideas. It’s endless with me. Now go out and get you some Angelonia and a paint pen. (laughing)
