Instagram inspired ::: photos from the week

posted on

Yep, still waiting for the iPhone! Until then, I’m crazy about the look so thought I’d continue with “faking it”. Here’s some photos from “life in the last week”.  I’m trying to finish up my bedroom cabinets. Hope to share the progress by Tuesday.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

Hey Cathy! Thanks for looking today. Hope you’re enjoying the long weekend. Are you adding stripes to anything else? I am…. just because of YOU! Not paint but a little stripes on my cabinet project with you as inspiration. :-)
Hopefully I’ll NOT have to do the photoshop fakes too much longer because I’m going to splurge on an iPhone by the end of June. I’m hooked!

Very nice! The Poul Henningsen lamp is one of my personal favorites, too. I love your window shades. What kind did you get? We bought the cheapest possible just to have something for privacy, but this is a case where you get what you pay for. I love roller shades and I was sad to discover that Ikea didn’t carry the Enje shade anymore.
I also love your downtown shots!

We both had instagram on the brain today! The solar shades are Levolor from blindsaver.com. They had the best prices when I was looking. They’re all custom sizes so I had to go that route. The windows are so big and not a single one the same size. (weird) I’ve purchased from them many times and I’m always happy. I have to save up each time to take the plunge. Window treatments are so pricey… but these are well worth it. Oh, I love Ikea… I have to drive to Houston to get stuff. Wish it were closer but maybe that’s a good thing because I’d probably go crazy. Thanks for looking, Kim. Your beautiful photos always inspire me to use my camera… I’m sooo amateur but I really enjoy it. I always appreciate your kind remarks. (I secretly jump up and down!)

Thank you so much for the info on the shades! That’s definitely on my list of things to get for the house… Now I’m going to check out your kitchen for motivation & inspiration. :)

Very nice photos. I really enjoyed instagram when I had my iPhone, I’m sure you’ll love it, too. Love your cat, seems to be enjoying a nice little cat nap.

How nice of you to comment.. thanks! I’m sure I’ll go a little overboard with the pictures once I get it. Do you not have yours any more?
Oh, my sweet kitty… she’s been sick the last week or so and on an antibiotic. I must admit I’ve been really spoiling her lately and she’s been in WAY TOO MANY of my pictures. She rarely gets on the furniture (I got lucky about that) … so when I saw her all chilled out I had to snap a pix. Thanks again for looking. I love your blog… the poems and music are wonderful!! :-)

No problem, you’re welcome. And the bill got a little too high for me to continue to pay. But hopefully I’ll be back with the iPhone users soon. I’m sorry to hear about that, I hope she’s getting better. And thank you about my blog.

Aww… kitty. Your faux-instagram really suits your house!

Paul borrowed a paint sprayer and used the three-day weekend to attack the front porch… I took a vacation and did nothing but read. I didn’t even check email. Greatest thing ever… How was your holiday???

A VACATION! You can’t take a vacation!!! (giggle) Actually I’m just jealous and sometimes you absolutely must turn the dang computer off and leave the internet world behind. Sounds WONDERFUL!

Thanks Lindsey! We usually eat our meals there but I need to use my real dining room once in a while too… this one is just so easy and convenient near the kitchen. Your pictures have inspired me to do the same… a little photo diary, if you will. Thanks, girl!

Aww you made my day! I’m so glad it inspired you. I love posts like this! It makes me feel connected even more with ‘blogging buddies’. I only wish my hubs and I were more domesticated and actually ate at a dining table and not our coffee table but I guess old habits die hard haha!

The drawers look great! They represent a LOT of work! I like the “wiry” look of Richie’s guitar picture, too . My bro is a vintage guitar guy.

Hey Polly! Thanks for checkin’ in on me. I was wondering how you were and how your condo was coming along. Hope you’re finding some good stuff. Richie has many amazing guitars and amplifiers and one day I hope to have them beautifully displayed. I have a wall in mind that will be perfect for them. I miss our night club – loud music days! I finally finished the cabinet… it looks okay… but I’m glad it’s over!
