Birds on My Back

posted on

Over the last few weeks I’ve really been taking it easy with my work load, as I seriously injured my back while working on sheetrock in the bedroom. Richie claims that I stood on that damn step stool too long while leaning over and holding myself up for two days straight.

I really think he’s right.
Don’t you just love that lamp! Richie found that years ago at some crazy sale. I think it use to be a heat lamp used in a hospital or doctors office. We took all the “heat” part out of it and made a lamp out of it. LOVE THAT!

Anyway, my back was pissed and just completely gave out. I was frozen and couldn’t move. I was in bed for almost a week. I think I’m finally starting to feel good again. THANK GOODNESS! I can’t stand to sit still… it drives me crazy. So of course I laid and rested my back but didn’t really stay “still”.

I have a thing for birds. I love them. So as I laid on the couch I enjoyed watching the birds at the bird feeder and even caught some with my camera. That’s one of the perks to having walls of windows in your house. You can take pictures from the comfort of your living room couch. :-)

That woodpecker has been working it all summer long. He’s a noisy one! Beautiful, though.

I also played around with some paper, scissors, glue and string (Yes, I’m a pre-schooler!) and created a silly little bird mobile. Can you tell how bored I was? Trust me, it wasn’t a fun time for me. I’ve never felt pain like that in my entire life. No thank you!

But that’s not all I did…..

While my back was out I did some online shopping after getting my last electricity bill and falling flat on my face! Ouch, my back, Ouch, my face, OUCH, my pocket book. Everything was hurting. (laughing) I knew it meant I had to break down and buy some more solar shades. So I bought some for the front hallway and my workout studio. They shipped quick and are already making a difference. I hung those up while on “light duty”.

Solar Shades are so great for this house because you get the heat and sun protection but still get to keep a view of the outside.

I definitely need to be using this space…. (hint!, hint!… too much ice cream and cookies, lately.) Renovations make you nervous and eating junk is so much fun. Bad, Stacey. BAD!

Okay, I think we’re caught up, now. Time to finish the laundry. MORE WORK!
