View to back porch area. BEFORE.

A view the day we got the house. So much work ahead of us. The dark paneling and ceiling really made the house somewhat dark and depressing.

After the wall to wall carpeting was pulled up there was lots of mastic on the floor that we later removed with Bean-E-Doo, a soy bean product that is totally environmentally friendly.

The paneling came down and the electricians did their work. Richie added studs to the wall as they needed them. Love that green peg board!

Paneling came down and sheetrock went up. Much brighter and better.

Sheet rock dust everywhere and Richie works to rewire the George Nelson bubble lamps. The were made with plugs and he hard-wired them.

The ceilings are really nice tongue and groove wood but they're very dark and really made the room like a cave at night. The white stain on the ceilings were a great fix. LOTS OF WORK. MORE THAN I PLANNED. Totally worth it.

Our furniture stayed in storage for months until we could seal the concrete floors. The shiny concrete looks great.

View of the floating storage wall with autograph doors. These are the original door that have hundreds of signatures on them. We wanted to keep them so we just turned them around sealed them and started our own. The signatures from years gone by are still there hiding on the other side. Come by and sign the doors!

Here's a night shot of the small dining area in the middle of the living room and kitchen. It's a big open space that serves so many purposes. The solar shades really help brighten the space at night. All those windows can make things dark. We love them.

A nice view after we added additional solar shades to the top portion of the windows. That tree was our xmas tree. It's not normally in the house.

I sometimes marvel at the architecture of this home and can't really imagine living anywhere else. The beautiful tongue and groove ceilings, the rough cut posts and beams, and all the beautiful windows. I feel so lucky!
