Another view after much removal. You can see the big pile on the left. Rocks and bricks from the old pond.

It's a jungle out there! It's hard to believe that a yard could be so ... ummmmm, OUT OF CONTROL!

This is the back porch and the mess on the porch is what Richie blew off the roof the first day we got the house. So much debris! If you look straight on you'll see the overgrown area where there was a pond. But really all you can see is vegetation. The pond and 500 rocks are underneath it.

Well, we had to get going. We brought in our lawn mowers, weed eaters, machetes, tillers,... whatever we could get our hands on to get it to a point where we could actually see the ground.

Most of the vegetation has been cut and we had to remove a total of 13 trees (about 6 in the back) and lots of bamboo. LET THE SUN SHINE IN! You can see the fence has been taken over by the neighbors jasmine and is about to fall down.

Well the debris was gone but the mess just got worse after the roofers came.

We're trying to make something happen. It's just the beginning.

Well, looks like something happened. It can only get better from here.

The tree service did do some stump grinding but it just wasn't enough. Richie and his dad had to rent a grinder to finish things off. A big stump was right in the middle of our walkway and it had to go.

The old pond area looks amazing. Richie had to pour a small concrete back section to close it in and then I went to work on the landscape.

Here's a view of one bed down the side of the house. There's so many great windows, so having a nice yard to look at is important. There's still so much more to do.

Another view of bed and walkways. My yuccas went crazy with blooming. I had to stake them because they were pulling the plants out of the ground.

Working in the yard is my most favorite thing to do. I love flowers and they are everywhere.

We installed a Coolaroo to shade the back porch. It has helped so much and allow us to enjoy the patio any time of day.
