A Day to Get Away

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and if you managed to NOT overeat, then you are far better than me at resisting the Thanksgiving temptations.  It also doesn’t help that my mother in law cannot control herself and had to bake 3 pies, bread pudding, a German chocolate cake and enough food for an army.  The woman is mad… mad I say!

It’s been nice to have a few extra days off and what better way to spend a day than to hop in the car and drive to Houston.  Richie had told me he was driving ….

Concert Kick-off

This past Monday Richie and I got a nice break from working both on the house and from our day jobs.  Having Monday off we were excited to take a drive over to Houston and see a concert.  This kicks off three months of concerts we’ve been waiting a long time for.   The weather here has been fabulous.  Sunny blue skies with temps in the 60s and 70s so it was perfect for a little road trip.  Makes me feel bad for the rest of the country that is freezing their butts off.  I’m sorry guys!

Another Goode House

Yesterday was just another “normal” day at work… full of paperwork, phone calls, listening to other people talk about their broken air conditioners, flat tires, and Memorial Day weekend plans. I didn’t expect it to be any different, but then I get a call from Rebecca. Rebecca is not only an awesome person, but the daughter of one of Rex & Ruth Goode’s best friends (Reminder: Rex and Ruth Goode owned our home and he was the architect)  What a nice surprise! Kitchen and Art

I’m getting bad about postings and I HATE THAT! I’m just so busy that I can’t find time to sit down and do it… not to mention that I keep forgetting to charge my camera battery. But here’s what we’ve been up to…

Richie had been working with the Art Museum to design and build these very large “boxes” for their fundraising gala (which I mentioned in an earlier post). He finished that up and we saw the finished product last Friday night. Part of the evening featured a gallery of “living art” inside these “boxes”. It was so amazing I ….
